09:12 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Casella Waste Systems (CWST) and Waga Energy said Thursday that they have started operations at the renewable natural gas facility at the McKean Landfill in Pennsylvania. The companies said the facility can process up to 2,000 standard cubic feet per minute of landfill gas and produce up to 407,000 MMBtu of RNG annually. The gas will be supplied to the National Fuel Gas pipeline network, the companies said, adding that the project is expected to avoid about 31,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions each year. The McKean facility is the third to open this year as part of Casella and Waga's 2023 partnership, the companies said.
