01:02 PM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Thursday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 1.3% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) up 0.2%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was fractionally lower. In corporate news, Nvidia (NVDA) has agreed to buy AI platform Hugging Face in a deal worth up to $12.93 billion as the technology bellwether pledged to foster open-source models in the AI ecosystem. Nvidia shares were up 1.3%.
