Southwest Airlines to Debut Airport Lounge Network
MT newswire2026/09/02 14:38 10:38 AM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Southwest Airlines (LUV) said Wednesday it plans to introduce its first-ever airport lounge network. Southwest is partnering with JPMorgan Chase (JPM) to combine Southwest's hospitality with the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network to create a premium airport experience, the company said. The company said construction has started on the first four Southwest lounges, which are expected to welcome their first guests in late 2027. The lounges will be located at airports in Austin, Baltimore, Honolulu and Nashville. Southwest said it plans to open at least seven additional lounges over the next several years in high-demand business and leisure markets. A new premium Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card will be issued by Chase in 2027, providing access to the new Southwest lounge network, the company added.
