Odaily reported that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a motion to dismiss CME's motion regarding the perpetual contract lawsuit. The motion argues that CME lacks legal standing in this case, including the fact that CME itself can also launch perpetual contracts, and therefore any alleged harm is actually self-inflicted. Previously, CME planned to sue the CFTC, opposing the agency's approval for Kalshi to offer Bitcoin perpetual contracts.
