According to the Wall Street Journal, Anthropic is moving ahead with a U.S. listing that could come as early as September or October. The headline figures: a target valuation of roughly $2 trillion, a raise of up to $100 billion, and projected 2028 revenue of $190–200 billion.
The number drawing the most attention is the total addressable market it has presented to investors — over $30 trillion, edging past the $28.5 trillion figure SpaceX cited earlier. Worth keeping in mind that TAM is an issuer's own calculation; it describes the size of the story, not achievable revenue. And given how different the two businesses are, the comparison is largely symbolic.
Direct access before listing is limited. Most investors can only get indirect exposure through Anthropic's shareholder companies or related concept ETFs, and those vehicles vary widely in how closely they actually track Anthropic itself.
Does a $2 trillion valuation look reasonable to you? Would you wait for the listing, or take an indirect position now?
