Brent crude oil rose by about $1 in the short term, reaching a high of $91.08 per barrel.

The main Nymex crude oil futures contract has just broken through the $88.00 per barrel mark, now trading at $88.02 per barrel, up 2.64% on the day.

A spokesperson said that Japanese energy company ENEOS shut down the No. 2 crude distillation unit with a daily capacity of 95,200 barrels at its Mizushima B refinery on Monday for maintenance.
