Tether issued an additional 1 billion USDT (authorized but not yet issued)
On January 12th, according to Whale Alert monitoring, Tether issued an additional 1 billion USDT. In response to this, Tether's CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that this issuance of 1 billion USDT is a replenishment for the Tron network inventory. This is an authorized but unissued transaction, which means that this issuance will be used for the next issuance request and cross-chain exchange inventory.
