ING International: The US dollar will remain strong, but the room for further appreciation is limited
Dutch international foreign exchange analyst Turner said in a report that the US dollar has held its recent gains, approaching a two-month high against a basket of currencies. After investors significantly reduced their expectations for US interest rate cuts, the dollar should remain strong, but there is limited room for further appreciation.
Data shows that the U.S. money market expects less than 50 basis points cut in the Federal Reserve's last two meetings this year and may not make significant adjustments further. The bank suspects that U.S. short-term interest rates will start to rise sharply from now on.
