Bitcoin mining company Compass Mining will open a 30-megawatt capacity mine in Iowa
On November 20, Compass Mining announced that it will open a Bitcoin mining site on a five-acre plot in Iowa, planning to achieve an 8 megawatt (MW) power supply capacity by January 2025 and further expand to 30 MW. The Iowa facility is part of Compass Mining's strategy to reduce dependence on third-party operators and own and manage its own infrastructure. The company has previously relied on external partners but now turns to direct ownership to mitigate third-party risks and enhance operational control. (Bitcoin.com)
