Malaysian Regulatory Authority: Telegram has begun applying for the necessary licenses to operate next year
On December 26, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) stated that Telegram and WeChat have applied for the licenses needed to operate their platforms in Malaysia next year. The MCMC said in a statement on Thursday that failure to do so could lead to regulatory action, which all parties hope to avoid.
