Ethereum Pectra Upgrade Activated on Sepolia Testnet, Entering Final Testing Phase
ChainCatcher reports that Ethereum's upcoming Pectra upgrade is set to activate on the Sepolia testnet around 14:30 Beijing time today.
It is reported that the Sepolia version is the last major release before the mainnet upgrade launch, which is expected to start next month. This deployment marks the second phase of the Pectra testnet activation, following its launch on the Holesky testnet on February 24.
The Pectra upgrade is named as a combination of "Prague" (execution layer changes) and "Electra" (consensus layer updates), introducing several changes aimed at enhancing Ethereum's scalability. If it performs well, developers expect to determine the mainnet activation date during the All Core Developers (ACD) call on March 6, 2025. The potential mainnet launch is scheduled for early April.
