Polygon to Deploy Heimdall 2.0 Upgrade This Week, Potentially Its Most Complex Hard Fork Yet
Odaily Planet Daily reported that Polygon Foundation CEO Sandeep Nailwal has announced the deployment of a new consensus layer called Heimdall 2.0 this Thursday. He stated that this upgrade will strengthen the backbone of the Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain, reducing the blockchain’s finality time to around five seconds. However, due to its high complexity, it may be the most complex hard fork the network has ever undergone, so node operators need to prepare for the upgrade in advance. (Cointelegraph)
