Fidelity’s $331M Exit Triggers Second-Biggest Daily Outflow in Spot Bitcoin ETF History

As of August 1, a recent update by SoSoValue on Bitcoin ETFs reveals that the total daily net inflow stood at negative $812.25 million. This decline has put a record in BTC ETFs performance being the second largest one day outflow in history led by Fidelity ETF $331 million outflow. 

The cumulative total net inflow reached $54.18 billion, showing strong historical performance despite recent outflows. Total net assets held across the funds amounted to $146.48 billion, representing 6.46% of Bitcoin’s market cap. Meanwhile, the total daily value traded across all funds was $6.14 billion.

BlackRock Holds the Lead, but ARK and Fidelity Dominate Daily ETF Outflows

A deeper view on individual ETFs reveals that BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led in net assets with $84.09 billion and held 3.71% of the Bitcoin share. IBIT recorded a daily net outflow of $2.58 million, while trading $4.54 billion with a 3.17% daily loss. Fidelity’s FBTC ETF followed with $22.96 billion in assets and a -$331.42 million daily net outflow. FBTC accounted for 1.01% of BTC share and lost 3.12% on the day.

Grayscale’s GBTC posted a net asset value of $20.47 billion but experienced a $66.79 million outflow. GBTC traded $353.44 million in value and fell 3.15% in market price. The Grayscale BTC ETF (ticker BTC) posted a daily outflow of $33.60 million with a 3.19% loss, totaling $5.19 billion in net assets.

Ark Invest and 21Shares’ ARKB ETF recorded a $327.93 million daily outflow, holding $5.18 billion in net assets. ARKB traded $178.73 million in volume, with a 3.07% market loss. Bitwise’s BITB fund saw a $38.27 million outflow with $4.59 billion in assets and a 3.12% loss.

HODL, BRRR, and BTCW Hold Steady on Inflows

VanEck’s HODL ETF posted no net inflow or outflow and maintained $1.92 billion in assets. It recorded a 3.12% market loss and traded $31.56 million. Valkyrie’s BRRR ETF reported no inflow and had $673.53 million in assets, with a $17.36 million trading volume.

Invesco’s BTCO ETF showed a $5.08 million outflow with $617.28 million in assets, falling 3.14% and trading $14.90 million. Franklin’s EZBC fund recorded a $6.57 million daily outflow, holding $604.48 million in assets and losing 3.15%. WisdomTree’s BTCW ETF maintained $178.55 million in net assets without inflow changes. BTCW posted a 3.21% decline, trading $16.84 million. 

The largest outflows for the day were recorded by FBTC, ARKB, and GBTC. Despite these movements, cumulative net inflows and total net assets remain positive. All ETFs experienced negative daily changes, with losses ranging from 3.07% to 3.21%. Trading volumes varied widely, led by IBIT’s $4.54 billion and BITB’s $203.78 million.
