UK retail investors to gain access to crypto exchange-traded notes in October
Foresight News reports, according to CoinDesk, that under new regulations from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) set to take effect on October 8, UK retail investors will soon be able to purchase crypto exchange-traded notes (cETNs). cETNs must be listed on FCA-approved UK trading platforms and comply with financial promotion and consumer duty rules. While retail users will be allowed to access cETNs, they will not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The FCA had previously banned retail investors from accessing crypto ETNs in 2021, citing concerns over investor protection.
