Base has launched its Solana bridge on mainnet, allowing users and developers to move assets between the two ecosystems. The bridge brings Solana activity into the Coinbase backed network and is positioned as a major step in expanding cross chain liquidity.

The system is secured by Chainlink Cross Chain Interoperability Protocol and Coinbase operated validation, creating a dual verification model meant to reduce the risks that have historically plagued cross chain bridges. Both operators independently verify messages before transfers are finalized.

The launch comes as Base and Solana remain two of the fastest growing crypto ecosystems. Base said the bridge reflects its principle of being a bridge and not an island, aiming to make asset movement as simple as internet traffic.

Users can now bring SOL and any SPL token into Base apps, while exporting Base assets into Solana. Early integrations include Zora, Aerodrome, Virtuals, Flaunch, and Relay, offering immediate routes for trading and liquidity. The bridge is open source on GitHub and available for any developer to integrate as cross chain use cases expand.
