rToken Transfer: Bring Your US Stocks to Bitget Without Selling Them
Moving US shares from a broker to a crypto exchange usually means 3 steps: sell them, move the cash, and buy back in while the price keeps moving. rToken Transfer turns this into one simple action. You send eligible US-listed stocks and ETFs from your current broker to Bitget as shares. Each one arrives in your spot account as an rToken, a tokenized version of that share priced in USDT, and you trade it from the same balance as your crypto. We charge nothing on our side to transfer in.
How a transfer works
The transfer uses Free of Payment (FOP), a standard method for moving securities between brokers. FOP moves ownership of the shares only.
1. You initiate the transfer and get the instructions from Bitget, then start an FOP transfer out at your current broker.
2. Your shares move to Bitget's designated omnibus account at Alpaca Securities, a FINRA-registered US broker.
3. When the shares arrive and are processed, our In-Kind Tokenization Network (ITN) mints the matching rTokens automatically.
4. The rTokens are credited to your Bitget spot account, ready to trade.

Plan for about 10 business days from start to finish. The sending broker, the review of your assets, and our own processing can each move that date.

3,000+ stocks and ETFs for your portfolio
Coverage decides whether you move the entire portfolio or only a few names. rToken Transfer supports more than 3,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs, subject to the current supported list. A portfolio that mixes single stocks such as Nvidia and Apple with an index fund such as the SPDR S&P 500 ETF can come across in one transfer.
However, three limits still apply to every transfer:
-
Whole shares only. A holding of less than 1 share cannot move.
-
OTC securities are not supported.
-
A stock or ETF has to be supported for rToken trading to be eligible.
Say your broker account holds 20 NVDA shares, 12.4 AAPL shares, and 8 shares of a stock that trades OTC. After the transfer, 20 rNVDA and 12 rAAPL arrive in your spot account. The 0.4 AAPL share and all 8 OTC shares stay at your broker. Check the supported list before you start, so you know what will stay behind.
Minting runs on its own once the shares arrive
The request of transfer at your broker is the only action required of you here. ITN picks up the shares when they reach the omnibus account and mints the matching rTokens, so you have nothing further to submit to us. After you start the transfer, the next thing to check is your spot balance.
Every request you enter by hand is a chance to type the wrong ticker or quantity. Automatic minting removes the second request, and with it one place where that mistake could happen.
Your holdings can work once they land
Once credited, each rToken is a spot asset in your Bitget account, sitting in the same spot account as your crypto. During US market sessions, covering pre-market, regular hours, after-hours, and overnight, your rToken order routes through brokers to the NASDAQ and NYSE order books. That means the price you pay is the stock price. Selected popular rTokens also stay tradable 24/7, including weekends, though depth is thinner outside US hours. When you sell, there is no T+1 settlement wait, so the USDT is free for your next trade in the same session.
Your rTokens can also back other trades. In a Unified Trading Account (UTA) in Advanced Mode, eligible rTokens count toward your margin among more than 370 margin assets, at collateral ratios of up to 95% depending on the asset and how much you hold. Say your 20 rNVDA are worth 3,600 USDT at an illustrative price of 180 USDT. At an 80% ratio, they would add 2,880 USDT of collateral to a BTC futures position while you keep the Nvidia exposure. The cost is that one equity figure now carries both positions. If rNVDA falls while your futures trade loses, your equity takes both hits. A cross-margin position under UTA also has no single fixed liquidation price.

What changes when your shares become rTokens
Each rToken is issued by Reality and backed 1:1 by the real share. You keep the economic exposure. The price moves with the share, and eligible net cash dividends reach you in USDT after US withholding tax. Eligible stock dividends arrive as more rTokens, and a split adjusts your balance and price so your holding value stays the same.
With that tokenized version sitting in your balance, you no longer hold the share itself. An rToken carries no shareholder voting rights and no direct share registration. It can also fall as far as the underlying stock does. Weigh that before you move a position you hold for more than its price.
Transferring in costs 0 USD on our side, though your current broker may charge its own outgoing fee. A transfer out of Bitget costs 150 USD, so count that fee too before you move holdings in.
Once your rTokens land, you can trade them on rToken spot from the same USDT balance as your crypto. In UTA Advanced Mode, eligible rTokens can back your futures positions while you keep holding them. A tokenized equity can lose value exactly as the underlying share can. Using one as margin adds a liquidation risk that the spot holding on its own does not carry. rToken Transfer and rToken availability also vary by region.
