American basketball superstar Shaquille O'Neal's legal action in Astrals NFT case partially dismissed
Legal action against American basketball superstar Shaquille O'Neal in the Astrals NFT case has been partially dismissed. The court ruled that Shaquille O'Neal participated in the Solana NFT project Astrals as a "seller" rather than a "controller," and approved O'Neal's request to dismiss some of the charges against him in the unregistered securities class action lawsuit that began in May 2023. Astrals is a Solana-based NFT project with 10,000 unique 3D avatars designed to promote investment in a virtual world similar to a metaverse called Astralverse and a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). The project also has its own cryptocurrency, Galaxy, as the governance token for the DAO.
