Pavel Durov: Telegram is ready to exit incompatible markets
After being arrested in France, Telegram founder Pavel Durov voiced through Telegram that the company is ready to withdraw from markets incompatible with its privacy and security principles. Durov further mentioned that Telegram has taken similar actions in multiple countries, such as Russia and Iran. Last month, Durov was arrested at Paris airport and charged with "assisting in the dissemination of child pornography pictures and drug trafficking crimes". Currently, he has been released by French authorities but needs to be under judicial supervision and temporarily stay in France. Reports say that Telegram mainly relies on cryptocurrency-related activities for income, holding digital assets worth 400 million dollars by 2023.
