South Korean actress Hwang Jung-eum receives suspended sentence for misappropriating approximately $3 million from her company to invest in cryptocurrency
ChainCatcher reported that South Korean actress Hwang Jung-eum was sentenced to two years of probation by the Jeju District Court on Thursday for embezzling $3 million (4.34 billion KRW) from her personal management company to invest in cryptocurrency. This means that as long as she does not commit another crime within the next four years, she will not have to serve a prison sentence. Prosecutors had previously requested a three-year prison term, but the judge granted probation, taking into account that she had fully repaid the amount and that this was her first offense with full compensation made.
