Elon Musk to Launch End-to-End Encrypted Communication App X Chat
Foresight News reported that Musk stated on the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast that an end-to-end encrypted standalone communication application called X Chat will be launched, aiming to compete with Telegram and WhatsApp, and is expected to go live in the coming months.
X Chat was originally an in-app feature within X, but Musk revealed on the podcast that the development team has restructured the application and will release it as a standalone app. Musk noted that although WhatsApp claims to offer end-to-end encryption, it retains metadata that allows advertisers to accurately understand user behavior, whereas X Chat uses "Bitcoin-like peer-to-peer encryption technology" and will not leave any information that advertisers can exploit.
