Ontology community passes proposal to adjust ONG token economic model
Foresight News: According to ChainWire, Ontology has announced that its community has unanimously approved the proposal to adjust the ONG tokenomics. The proposal will reduce the total supply cap of ONG from 1 billion to 800 million, and permanently lock assets equivalent to 100 million ONG. After the adjustment, the release period will be extended to 19 years, maintaining a constant release rate of 1 ONG per second, with 80% allocated for ONT staking rewards. This adjustment aims to enhance the network's long-term sustainability and value stability. The related updates will be officially implemented with the mainnet v3.0.0 on December 1, 2025. Users and stakers do not need to take any action.
