Blockdaemon partners with VerifiedX to create mainstream self-custody DeFi
Jinse Finance reported that crypto infrastructure provider Blockdaemon and Bitcoin sidechain VerifiedX are launching a major upgrade aimed at making everyday cryptocurrency usage easier for non-technical users. The experience is designed to feel more like Venmo or Cash App for users. Blockdaemon provides the technical backbone, including node operations, staking systems, and liquidity management, while VerifiedX is responsible for the user experience, including payments, merchant transactions, and simple asset transfers. The collaboration aims to offer self-custodial DeFi functionality to users who are reluctant to use dashboards or connect on-chain wallets.

The U.S. goods trade deficit in July expanded beyond expectations, reaching a new high since March 2025.
The U.S. goods trade deficit sharply increased by 17.2% in July to $118.8 billion. The widening deficit was mainly driven by imports, with goods imports up 3.7% in July. The capital goods category—which includes computers, accessories, and semiconductors—recorded its largest monthly increase since 1993. Analysts point out that the unexpected expansion of the trade deficit will weigh on Q3 GDP growth; however, this reflects strong market demand for AI products rather than weakness in the U.S. economy.
