US Senator Questions Legality of US Government's Bitcoin Sell-Off: Should Be Included in National Strategic Reserves as per Trump's Directive
According to Odaily, on January 6, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis posted on X, questioning the legality of the U.S. government’s ongoing disposal of bitcoin assets. She stated that Donald Trump has made it clear that the bitcoin held by the government should be retained and used to establish a U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), rather than being continuously sold. Against the backdrop of other countries continuing to accumulate bitcoin, she expressed “deep concern” that continued U.S. sell-offs of related assets would weaken its strategic position.
