Golden Ten Data reported on January 3 that according to Qunar Travel, during the New Year holiday, air ticket bookings to Haikou and Sanya saw the highest increase nationwide, and hotel occupancy near several duty-free stores more than doubled year-on-year. According to Haikou Customs statistics, on January 2, 2026, Haikou Customs supervised the sale of 159,000 duty-free items for Hainan offshore duty-free, a year-on-year increase of 70.6%; the number of shoppers reached 33,000, up 77.6% year-on-year; and the shopping amount reached 254 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 156.6%.
