Apple expands Apple Pay cross-border payment support for Mainland China users

Glonghui January 15th|Apple announced on January 15th that it is expanding Apple Pay cross-border payment support, allowing users in Mainland China to use Visa credit and debit cards issued by local banks to make payments both in-store and online wherever contactless payments are accepted, no matter where they travel. According to Visa statistics, 79% of face-to-face transactions globally are now completed contactlessly via NFC technology. Customers holding Visa credit cards issued by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, China CITIC Bank, Ping An Bank, and Industrial Bank, as well as Visa debit cards issued by China CITIC Bank, can add their cards to the Apple Wallet app to use Apple Pay for cross-border payments. The above partners have also collaborated with China UnionPay to jointly support Apple Pay cross-border payments.
