X is revising its API policy, revoking the reward for users posting on X to access the API
BlockBeats News, January 15th, X Product Lead and Solana Ecosystem Advisor Nikita Bier stated, "We are revising our developer API policy: we will no longer allow those apps that reward users for posting on X (also known as 'InfoFi'). This mechanism has already led to a significant amount of low-quality AI content and reply-chain spam on the platform."
"We have revoked API access for these apps, so your X user experience will quickly get better (once the bots realize there's no more money to be made from posting)."
"If your developer account has been terminated as a result, please reach out to us proactively, and we will assist you in migrating your business to Threads and Bluesky."
