Jefferies Chief Strategist Removes Bitcoin Allocation Due to Quantum Computing Risks
BlockBeats News, January 16, according to Bloomberg, Christopher Wood, Global Head of Equity Strategy at Jefferies, recently removed the entire 10% bitcoin allocation from his model portfolio, citing concerns that advances in quantum computing could undermine bitcoin’s cryptographic security.
Wood stated that if quantum computing continues to make breakthroughs, bitcoin’s value as a long-term, pension-like store of value will be challenged, and this risk is beginning to enter the mainstream asset allocation considerations.
