CertiK: DeFi Protocol Whale Steals $282 Million; Hacker Bridges About $63 Million to New Address
BlockBeats News, January 19th, according to CertiK monitoring, the hacker who stole 282 million US dollars from Whale 2 has bridge transferred part of the funds (about 63 million US dollars) to an address starting with 0xF73, and then proceeded with further money laundering operations.
Previously reported, blockchain sleuth ZachXBT posted on social media that around 11 pm Coordinated Universal Time on January 10, 2026, a whale victim lost over 282 million US dollars worth of Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin (BTC) due to a hardware wallet social engineering scam.
