Mask Network will become the new administrator of Lens Protocol
Foresight News reported that the decentralized social protocol Mask Network and Lens Protocol have jointly announced that Mask Network has become the new steward of Lens Protocol. In the future, Lens Protocol will shift its focus from protocol experimentation to consumer-oriented user experience, product design, and global distribution. Mask Network also outlined its vision for Lens's future on X, stating: "The next phase is not about more protocols, but about building products that people actually use, as well as the culture we shape together and a truly thriving community."
Lens Protocol was launched in early 2022 by Aave founder Stani Kulechov and was initially positioned as "Twitter built on Ethereum." Kulechov posted on X, saying: "We built Lens Protocol and its underlying on-chain infrastructure, including decentralized content data storage governed by smart contracts. Our goal is to create a neutral social infrastructure for developers to build consumer-grade applications that can reach mainstream users."
