Shielded Labs receives a donation of 3,221 ZEC, worth approximately $1.2 million, from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
Foresight News reported that Shielded Labs, the independent core development team led by Zcash founder Zooko, announced it has received a donation of 3,221 ZEC from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, equivalent to approximately $1.2 million at current prices. This funding will directly support Shielded Labs' core initiatives, including the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM), Crosslink, and dynamic fees, aiming to enhance the security and scalability of the Zcash network.
Shielded Labs is a Switzerland-based Zcash support organization funded by donations from Zcash holders and supporters. It operates independently of the developer fund and block rewards, with donations used to support the long-term development of the protocol. Shielded Labs stated that this is the second time Tyler and Cameron have donated to Shielded Labs. Their first donation was in 2023, which was used to form a dedicated team focused on Crosslink.
