Two Vanguard Group funds increase holdings of MSTR stock by $707.5 million
According to Odaily, a value index fund (VVIAX) under a certain exchange purchased 1.23 million shares of MicroStrategy (MSTR) for $202.5 million, marking the fund's first investment in this company, which holds 687,410 BTC. Previously, a mid-cap index fund (VMCIX) under the same exchange acquired 2.91 million shares of MicroStrategy, worth $505 million, when the company reached the mid-cap benchmark. Market opinions are divided on this move: some believe it signals traditional finance's acceptance of crypto assets, while others point out that it is merely a routine index-tracking action by this $12 trillion asset management institution, rather than an active investment.
