US Construction Expenditures Remained Flat During September and October
Recent Trends in Construction Spending
After a slight dip in September, construction expenditures bounced back in October, resulting in little overall change since August. Certain sectors, including data centers, energy, transportation, and public infrastructure, continued to show strength during this period. However, most other areas experienced declines, highlighting the ongoing impact of elevated interest rates and economic uncertainty on the industry.
The decrease in private sector spending reinforces expectations for ongoing short-term softness in both residential and structural investments.
