Multiple Democratic amendments proposed to the US Senate Agriculture Committee's crypto market structure bill
Jinse Finance reported that as the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee is about to hold a hearing on crypto market structure legislation, several Democratic senators have formally submitted amendment proposals, attempting to incorporate their long-standing core policy positions into the Republican-led draft bill. The proposed amendments include: prohibiting the president and senior government officials from profiting from the crypto industry, requiring all Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) commissioner seats to be filled before new digital asset regulations take effect, and a clause proposed by some Democratic senators to prohibit bailouts for digital asset issuers. Meanwhile, Republicans have also submitted amendment suggestions, such as restricting crypto platforms associated with U.S. "foreign adversaries." The bill must be approved by both the Senate Agriculture Committee and the Banking Committee before it can be submitted to the full Senate for a vote.
