German lawmakers call for the withdrawal of over 1,200 tons of gold from the US
According to a report by Jinse Finance, German media reported on the 23rd that German parliamentarian Strack-Zimmermann has called on the German federal government to repatriate the gold reserves stored in the United States back to Germany. She stated that, given the increasing global uncertainty and the unpredictability of U.S. policies, it is no longer reasonable to keep about 37% of Germany's gold reserves in New York. For decades, Germany has stored more than 1,200 tons of gold reserves in the vaults of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Manhattan. Currently, about half of Germany's gold is stored in domestic financial center Frankfurt's vaults, while another 13% is kept in London, the capital of the United Kingdom.
