Tether surpasses Greece, Qatar, and Australia to rank among the world's top 30 gold holders
According to ChainCatcher, stablecoin issuer Tether has officially announced that, based on data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a report by Jefferies, Tether has entered the ranks of the world's top 30 gold holders, surpassing countries such as Greece, Qatar, and Australia.
Reportedly, by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, Tether's total physical gold reserves reached 520,089.350 ounces, with the total number of XAUT tokens in circulation at 520,089.3, accounting for approximately 60% of the total supply of gold-backed stablecoins.
