Russia Quietly Blocks Multiple Cryptocurrency Media Websites
Show original
According to a report by Bijie Network: Russian authorities appear to be intensifying network-level restrictions on cryptocurrency media, as users across the country report disruptions in accessing several international media websites, including CoinGeek and Cointelegraph. Technical analysis indicates that this blockade is being implemented by different internet service providers with varying degrees of strictness, based on Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) filtering rather than official registry bans, as the affected domains are not listed on the public blacklist of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) of Russia. Meanwhile, Russia's cryptocurrency regulatory framework is also continuously evolving, including the relaxation of regulations related to individual trading.
