Six Democratic senators have accused U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche of violating federal conflict of interest laws by issuing policy memoranda to relax regulations on the crypto industry while holding approximately $158,000 to $470,000 in crypto assets. The senators cited Section 208(a) of Title 18 of the United States Code, which stipulates that executive branch officials must not participate in decisions that could affect their personal financial interests, and have called for Blanche to recuse himself from related decisions.
