In January 2026, French consumer prices increased by 0.3% year-on-year
Over the course of a year, according to the preliminary estimate made at the end of the month, consumer prices are projected to rise by 0.3% in January 2026, after a 0.8% increase in December 2025. This slowdown in inflation is mainly attributed to a more pronounced decrease in the prices of manufactured goods, driven by a decline in clothing and footwear prices. The data collection period includes 18 days of sales, compared to 13 in January 2025.
