Glonghui, February 5th|The three major U.S. stock indexes closed mixed, with the Dow Jones up 0.53%, the Nasdaq down 1.51%, and the S&P 500 down 0.51%. Most popular tech stocks declined, with AMD dropping over 17%, marking its worst single-day performance since 2017. Nvidia, Tesla, Broadcom, and Meta all fell more than 3%, Google and Amazon dropped over 2%, while Apple rose more than 2%. Semiconductor equipment and materials, storage concept stocks, and crypto mining companies led the declines. SanDisk fell nearly 16%, Micron Technology dropped over 9%, Western Digital fell more than 7%, Applied Materials and a certain exchange both dropped over 6%, and ASML fell more than 3%. Weight-loss drug concept stocks and residential real estate stocks led the gains, with Eli Lilly rising over 10%, Amgen up more than 8%, and Pfizer up nearly 4%.
