Tether co-founder Brock Pierce has close ties with Epstein
Show original
On February 5, documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice revealed a close relationship between the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and Tether co-founder Brock Pierce. After Epstein was convicted of sex crimes in 2008, the two communicated frequently. Email records show that they discussed cryptocurrency matters and leveraged their networks to develop business opportunities. Pierce once invited Epstein to visit his residence in Puerto Rico and planned to help Epstein connect with the Winklevoss twins. He also included Epstein in plans to acquire Mt. Gox. The documents indicate that Epstein had invested in an exchange and Blockstream, and provided Pierce with $3 million for investment in an exchange, but ultimately completed the investment independently.
