Show original
On February 6 local time, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Commission has proposed the 20th round of sanctions against Russia, covering the energy, financial services, and trade sectors. The proposal includes a comprehensive maritime services ban on Russian crude oil, and recommends coordinated implementation with the G7. An additional 43 tankers have been added to the "shadow fleet" list, bringing the total to 640 vessels. At the same time, maintenance services for Russian LNG carriers and icebreakers are prohibited. The sanctions list adds 20 regional Russian banks, and measures are being taken against companies and platforms related to cryptocurrency trading. In addition, the proposal introduces anti-circumvention tools for the first time and suggests strengthening legal protection for EU enterprises.
