The Nasdaq 100 index initially closed up 0.8%. Among its components, KLA Corporation rose 7.7%, Doordash gained 7.3%, Synopsys and Micron Technology both increased by 5%, Western Digital was up 4.4%, Walmart fell 1.7%, Strategy dropped 2.4%, nuclear power stock CEG declined 2.6%, NXP Semiconductors fell 3.1%, and Palo Alto Networks dropped 6.7%. Amazon, Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Salesforce, Disney, and Nvidia all rose at least 1.7%, leading the Dow Jones components, while Caterpillar, Procter & Gamble, VZ, Boeing, and 3M fell by up to 2%.
