Glonghui, February 20|U.S. economic growth slowed in the fourth quarter, with the core PCE price index in December rising 3% year-on-year, exceeding expectations. President Trump once again called on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. At the opening of the U.S. stock market, the three major indexes all opened lower: the Nasdaq fell 0.62%, the S&P 500 index dropped 0.36%, and the Dow Jones fell 0.38%. Nvidia dropped more than 1% as it is in deep negotiations with OpenAI, planning to invest up to $30 billion. Blue Owl Capital continued to fall more than 5% after redemption from one of its private credit funds was restricted, raising market concerns. Newmont Mining fell more than 2% as Q4 profits declined, and it plans to invest $1.4 billion to develop Newcrest-related assets. (Glonghui)
