The price of Bitcoin (BTC) once again approached the US$72 mark this weekend, demonstrating resilience even amidst geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The leading cryptocurrency even tested this level in recent hours, while the cryptocurrency market registered a moderate recovery.

The move comes after a week marked by volatility. At the start of the period, BTC retreated to the $65.600 range after the initial impacts of the conflicts involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Despite the external pressure, buyers returned to the market over the following days.

The recovery gained momentum on Wednesday when Bitcoin surpassed $70.000 again. The advance occurred after the release of new Consumer Price Index (CPI) data in the United States and comments from current US President Donald Trump indicating that the conflict in the Middle East could be moving towards a reduction in tensions.

However, the asset faced renewed pressure the following day and retreated again below the $70 mark. The scenario changed on Friday, when a new wave of buying propelled BTC to a high of around $74.000, the highest level in approximately ten days.

The advance did not last long. After the United States carried out a targeted military attack against an Iranian island considered strategic, the price suffered a setback in that region and returned to around US$70.000.

Despite the correction, Bitcoin remained above that range even with new statements from President Trump encouraging other countries to send vessels to protect the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. France responded positively to the proposal, increasing market attention to geopolitical developments.

In the last few hours, BTC has registered a slight recovery and has once again come close to US$72, although there is still no confirmation of a breakout from this level.

With this performance, Bitcoin's market capitalization rose to approximately US$1,44 trillion. The cryptocurrency's dominance in the crypto market also increased, reaching approximately 57%.

While BTC consolidates its movement near recent resistance levels, several altcoins are registering moderate gains. Ethereum (ETH) has once again surpassed the US$2.100 level, while BNB is trading above US$660. XRP is near US$1,415.

Other assets such as Solana (SOL), Tron (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) also showed slight gains throughout the day. Chainlink (LINK) registered an advance of over 3%, trading at around US$9,2.

Among the day's highlights, the TAO token leads the gains among the largest altcoins by market capitalization. The asset has appreciated by more than 12% in the last 24 hours and is now trading near the US$270 range.

With the widespread recovery, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization has increased by approximately US$40 billion since yesterday, once again surpassing the US$2,5 trillion mark.
