International Tourists in South Korea to Gain Access to Crypto Payments

Crypto.com announced a partnership with KG Inicis, South Korea’s largest payment provider, to introduce crypto payments via the Crypto.com Pay service. The new solution is aimed at foreign tourists, who will be able to pay with digital assets both in offline stores and on Korean e-commerce platforms. Merchants, in turn, will receive funds instantly, either in fiat or in cryptocurrencies.

Crypto.com emphasized that the partnership is designed to simplify the use of digital assets in everyday payments. According to President and COO Eric Anziani, the collaboration with KG Inicis is intended to support South Korea’s tourism sector. Overall, the platform’s key goal remains expanding payment options and improving crypto accessibility for users.

The parties also plan to develop joint initiatives, including marketing campaigns and the launch of new products and services, subject to compliance with local regulatory requirements. KG Inicis noted that integrating digital assets into the real economy will become one of the key factors in the future competitiveness of South Korea’s financial and retail sectors.

In 2025, analysts at Ant International identified three major trends shaping the tourism industry. These trends affect not only merchants but also payment solution providers, driving demand for new payment options and indirectly influencing the transformation of the global FinTech ecosystem.
