GBP/USD falters following uneventful Fed decision on interest rates
Following the Federal Reserve's decision to maintain interest rates on Wednesday, the US Dollar Index (DXY) remained largely unchanged, showing minimal movement. The Fed's Summary of Economic Projections (SEP) presented a moderate outlook, with the dot plot for rate forecasts hovering close to 3.0%. Additionally, policymakers projected a modest increase in GDP growth for 2026.
Looking ahead, Fed Chair Jerome Powell is scheduled to host one of his final press conferences following the rate announcement, as his leadership of the Federal Reserve is set to conclude in mid-May.
