According to 1M AI News monitoring, Tech media 36Kr founder Liu Chengcheng currently serves as the head of ByteDance's AI hardware team Ocean, reporting directly to AI product team Flow lead Zhu Jun, overseeing the Douyin Smart Assistant and ByteDance's full line of AI hardware business. At the age of 30, in 2019, Liu Chengcheng led 36Kr to land on NASDAQ. Later, he secretly founded Whale Fish Technology, developing a domestic operating system and tablet hardware mainly sold overseas. The company was later acquired by ByteDance, with Liu Chengcheng and the founding team entering ByteDance.

After joining, he drove ByteDance's full acquisition of the open-ear headphones brand Oladance (about $50 million), and then led the launch of the first AI hardware, Ola Friend. Following the internal halt of the AI glasses project due to hardware homogenization in February this year, the Ocean team's strategic focus has shifted to the Douyin Smart Assistant. This product, capable of executing complex tasks across applications at the system level, is seen as ByteDance's AI hardware line's true breakthrough.
