Vizsla Copper launches 2026 drilling plan for Alaska Palmer project, focusing on high-grade copper expansion

⑴ Vizsla Copper announced that its Palmer VMS project, located in Southeast Alaska, has officially launched the 2026 diamond drilling plan. This marks the first phase of a multi-year technical strategy aimed at expanding the base of critical mineral resources and assessing opportunities for new discoveries.⑵ Two drilling rigs have arrived onsite, and the 2026 field season plans to drill approximately 10,000 meters. Initial drilling will focus on the South Wall area of the Palmer deposit, where previously discovered high-grade copper-rich cores in zone No. 1 represent some of the highest copper grades in the project to date.⑶ Subsequent drilling plans will cover two priority exploration targets located between existing deposits—HG Prospect and Waterfall Prospect. The former features mineralized outcrops extending over 600 meters along strike, while the latter shows potential to fill gaps in mineralization between deposits.⑷ According to the 2025 NI 43-101 technical report, the Palmer project has an indicated resource of 4.77 million tonnes with a copper grade of 1.69% and zinc grade of 5.17%, containing approximately 178 million pounds of copper and 543 million pounds of zinc; inferred resources total 12 million tonnes, with a copper grade of 0.57% and zinc grade of 3.92%.⑸ The project also produces silver, gold, and barite. These minerals are considered of strategic importance for supply chains, energy systems, and national security. The company plans to further promote resource growth, geological understanding, environmental baseline collection, and technical optimization studies during subsequent field seasons to support future economic and engineering research.
