On-chain investigator accuses Arthur Hayes of frequently promoting tokens and quickly reducing his holdings, sparking "liquidity exit" controversy
BlockBeats news, on July 2nd, on-chain investigator Specter disclosed that after Arthur Hayes recently expressed optimistic views on several projects, relevant token sell-offs occurred shortly afterward, sparking debate in the market about whether he was "influencing liquidity through his opinions."
The report pointed out that Hayes publicly expressed bullish sentiment on tokens such as HYPE, ZEC, and NEAR in June, and once predicted that HYPE's price could reach $150, publishing bullish content on Substack. However, within days, these assets, referred to as the "Holy Trinity," were noted to experience concentrated reduction of holdings.
The report also noted that Hayes then commented on WLD, suggesting it "might rise," but publicly announced his exit a few days later. After making price predictions about CARDS, on-chain data allegedly showed that related wallets transferred approximately 1.9 million tokens to exchanges. Additionally, the report mentioned that after his bullish comments on ENA in 2024, a large transfer to an exchange was recorded within about one hour.
The market should be alert to the risk of liquidity shocks that high-influence figures’ opinions on social media may cause.
