The U.S. storage chip index preliminarily closed down 6.8%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 4.9%.

The S&P 500 index preliminarily closed down 0.4%. The technology sector fell 1.8%, the industrial sector fell 1.6%, and the energy sector rose 3.2%. The Nasdaq 100 index preliminarily closed down 1.8%. Among its components, Astera Labs closed down 12%, Teradyne fell 10.3%, Intel dropped 10.1%, Marvell Technology/美满电子, Western Digital, Nebius Group, KLA, Lam Research, and SanDisk all fell at least 7.1%. Thomson Reuters rose 3.2%, Workday increased 4%, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals gained 4.1%, Diamondback Energy rose 4.2%, and Gilead Sciences increased 5.2%. In the Dow Jones index components, Chevron rose 3.6%.
